Then a friend needed help finding a condo on Folly Beach, and something clicked — not the transaction, but the realization that Rachel knew this city better than anyone she'd encountered in a real estate office.
She got licensed in 2014. Spent five years at a major brokerage, where she was consistently in the top 10% of agents but increasingly frustrated by the handoff model — where clients got assigned to junior agents the moment the senior agent signed the listing agreement.
In 2019, she left and started Coastal Realty Group with a specific philosophy: small team, high accountability, agents who actually know their territory. No handoffs. If Rachel takes your listing, Rachel's the one showing it.
The team grew to five agents by 2021, each recruited for genuine neighborhood expertise rather than production volume. Marcus Williams came from Mount Pleasant.
