Marco Reyes Has Been Doing Floors in Tampa Since Before Most of His Competitors Started

20 years in the trade. 12 years running his own company. Still shows up to every job site.

He Started at 19. He's Still at It.

Marco grew up in Hillsborough County, the son of a carpenter who did custom cabinetry out of a garage workshop on Gunn Highway. By 16 he was weekends-and-summers help on his dad's jobs. At 19, he took a full-time position with a flooring company in Brandon — started sweeping, moved to installer's helper, eventually ran crews of his own.

By 2014 he'd been in the trade for a decade, had a roster of repeat clients who kept calling him directly, and a small crew of guys he'd worked with long enough to trust. So he filed the LLC, got his contractor's license (CBC1265847), and started Precision Floors & Remodeling out of his garage on Linebaugh.

The company's not big — eight people including Marco and his wife Diana, who handles scheduling, client communication, and the administrative side of things. Marco could grow faster but he's said no to it deliberately. He doesn't want to be the guy signing jobs he never visits. His name's on the license and it's his name on the truck. That means he's on site.

Diana Keeps the Operation Running

Diana Reyes handles every client call, every scheduling request, and every follow-up. If you've called the office, you've probably talked to her. She's been working alongside Marco since year three of the business, and she brought real structure to what had been — by Marco's own admission — a little chaotic.

She built out the scheduling system, started the client follow-up process, and pushed Marco to implement the 3D design mockup service that's now one of their most talked-about differentiators. Homeowners regularly mention Diana in reviews — she makes sure you know what's happening before, during, and after the project.

The crew of six has been largely stable for years. In a trade where job-hopping is common, Marco keeps his people by paying above market and by making sure they're not stretched across ten projects at once. A focused crew does better work. He believes that pretty firmly.
